ouch

Since my triathlon commitment, i have started some training. Stationary cycling...running and swimming.

Yesterday was my first swimming lesson (trial)...i felt like a kid...i've never taken lessons in swimming whatsoever...but it was fun. the coach, shan, pointed out some stuff on how i can improve my breaststroke...it was pretty good tips. My free style however needs loads of work lor...i is disappointed with myself. but shan was encouraging about it, so maybe i will continue with her...work on my free style till i is good at it...! heee....

It was a tough hour...i tried hard... and did a few drills and now my left shoulder is like aching badly lor...can lift it very high...front crawl is so god-dam hard!! whoever said it was easy... liar!! :P

Shan is a nice girl...she's like 25, my errr... one session swim coach...is 3 yrs younger than me wor...she born in year 1981, wah....! taught swimming for 3 yrs, previously at ACS barker...

I have to get a bike soon and start actually cycling lor...stationary one sure can la...but on an actual bike... wobble... and kaput?? someone said i better be careful coz i am one who is likely to turn cycling into a "high impact" sport....with a ground-shaking KAPUT....so evil...*tsk*

Annual report

KNN.... my eyes are crossed, my fingers are frozen and cramp...it's the Annual report (also affectinately know as AR) season. Dam it...i write.. i coordinate photo shoot...i semi art-direct...i proof read... i tired... i am having a headache! The seahorse in my ear is prancing again!

I have to get through proofing the financial pages...matching each letter and figure with the auditor's reports.

Sigh...and there's still so much more to proof... i hate AR season! :P

no no... no photos

Not yet la people...know me, it probably would take a mth for me to do my editing and uploading. very lazee...

Anyway i hope Tie Ge (my diving buddy in manado) is feeling all better...she had a ear problem...and now its sort of infected...felt so bad about it...i mean its like she could only dive for two days and now she is suffering... me? well initially i thought a seahorse took up residence in my ear but slowly getting better...headache is going away.

Anyways i drafted a plan...this one is a long term one...and i emphasize...its a P-L-A-N, so subject to changes. i am just trying out. If all goes as planned and i don't face major difficulties...it should go along

1) 2006 - do a 10km run (ALMOST done) and maybe even a half marathon?? *gasp*

2) stroke correction course. i've already signed up for a trial session with aqua ducks (no prizes for guessing why i chose this company) and to clarify...it's correction of SWIMMING strokes..not errr handwriting strokes or whatever strokes you had in mind. If the trial goes well i might continue lessons with them. Objective: improve my front crawl

3) start a weekly routine of 1/2 runs, 1 swim and 1 run & swim

4) get (ie long term loan first...any offers? haha) a bike....not the motor type hor and do some riding. slowly weave that into the routine

5) do a time trial (front crawl) - this one MH tell me must do one lor...so must go and find out

6) 2007 - do a biathlon (sprint)

7) 2007 or 2008 - do a tri (sprint la!)

I mean i have always been thinking about doing the races and i do think i am at a point of my life i want to work to achieve something that really requires discipline and long term effort...and well its about time i build up my mental...i know i can...if only i try and i work hard...so i am taking positive steps to reaching these goals.

It's a big step...i mean we leave in a instant nation...computer games, tv shows, entertainment...all gives almost instant gratification...these races really mean a lot of hard work...esp since i am not SUPER fit either. Since when have i really worked soooo hard physically for anything? not in a long while.

so well.. i will update here and there on how the P-L-A-N goes....

It's over in a flash

5 days of diving...14 dives logged. I am back in Singapore...feeling a little blue, a little flu-y and even a tad bit unsteady on me legs. I wana go back to Manado, where life was simple, seafood was fresh, where i really practiced early to bed (sun sets at 6) and early to rise (sun rises at 6). The diving was pretty intense and i took a lot of pics. Beautiful wall dives in bunaken and awesome critters in lembeh....strange creatures that are just way way beyond my imagination.

Currently too tired to upload anything...i need to sleep...maybe tomorrow horrr...??? ZZZZzzzZZZzzzZzZZz...

Are you an Anglican??

Today was the the baptism for my nieces, at St Andrew's Cathedral. It's an Anglican church... it was my first time in an Anglican church. It is so old-school! and wow...it was errr....very Catholic mass-like lor. i was a little confused...really thot i stepped into a Catholic church...but my bro explained that lutheran and anglican were the first 2 denominations to break away from the catholic church. and well basically a lot of things still the same except no mary... no saints...blah blah. I still prefer new creation la...more lively and things are up and happening. pastor also speak so much more alive... :)
old-school lehhh...all the devotion books, bibles and hymnals stacked behind the pewsSee they also have these pretty cushion things to kneel on...people still kneel in churches lehhhI liked mine, though i must confess i didn't use it la...not very comfortable with kneeling, the ... "Ai"...aka "love"...signs of better things to come?
Joan was insistent on sitting with and my parents and not with the rest of the baptism crowd...a total of 43 at today's chinese service...amazing...! Aint she cute wearing white! She loves twirling around in it, though i think the dress makes her perspire quite a bit.
Here they are...waiting their turn...they are disruptive lor...the rest all quietly wait..these 2...embarrasment...*tsk tsk* but cute la... i is very amusedThe younger one took it as one big adventure...joan...cried bloody murder and was struggling to get away from the pastor!! Sibeh embarrassing lehhhh....all teary-eyed and red-faced...The day went by...was suppose to work...but then i slept... then i watched TV...then i chatted and now i am blogging...looks like i wouldn't get much done but i swear tonight is the night...must finish....no more time liaooooo! i will have to down more tongkat ali coffee ...

The man sent me this just a while ago...nice night scene at his place...he actually took a moment to appreciate it, take it down and even share it with me. He is still somewhat grounded and i tell you...he is the best person to teach anyone on the theory of "being present". Anyone who watched Rumour Has It...would know what "being present" means, ...just be present la...be there when you are there and not thinking of other stuff going on elsewhere or what you have to do later blah blah.

Sunday...was a blur

It was a luxury spending sunday at the beach too. Played a bit and went for my round sentosa run...yet again, second day in a row. i think i ran so much that one of my little nail is gona fall off...it hurts like crazy...and it got stomped one twice that night at bar none by my clever friend. :(

I had a horrible experience beside a pedestrain crossing sign at the side road of Marriott. my very clever friend asked me to wait for her at the side of the hotel...she ne tell me that the area was also a popular "standing zone" for the working girls...ended up i think i was misunderstood lor...a bunch of unattractive male walked by, staring and leering... my very clever friend told me... it was because if i wore kick-ass boots...i would be made a perfect candidate for pretty woman 2....wats that suppose to mean?? i know my skirt was short but my top was classy and not revealing mah...she then said...thats why those men ne dare to ask you how much you charge coz you look like you demand (ahemmmm....) very high price...huhhhhhh??? was i suppose to be flattered.... hmmmmm....

It was my first time at bar none...the band was decent...we had fun...we drank, we laughed we danced...we went attica....then we ate boon tong kee prata... hahahaa...

I also spoke with THE BOY at the beach on sunday....hmmmm....THE BOY is not to be confused with THE MAN....heee...he was nice and i was surprised he was so friendly, but errrrr he is dangerously in the same profile as THE ARSE....dratz i really do always fancy the same type of men....the wrong type...ha ha...
