happy new year!

gong xi fa cai! wan shi ru yi! =)the year of the pig has arrived! didnt do very much visiting this year but it was nice catching up with cousins and the kampong. since ssb closed, the kampong has been a little out of touch... nice to see all the kakis again at pat's place over chicken rice, mj and dvds.

hee.. so apparently the year of the pig is good for horses. i sure hope so! i need a job! i need a balanced life and i need less drama. i have issues to deal with and well i'm gona start the year straightening out my life as much as i can.

lny eve as usual the kampong met up at river angbao for jalan, a lot of eating and the fireworks. it's an annual tradition la. i think as usual i was rather stoned thru this festive season. it's always around this time it all hits me again. this time i am super sore and angry about what has happened and i really have no idea how to deal with my parents anymore. i never talked to them about anything how am i suppose to start acting all grown up and responsible when i am well...NOT! shucks... nuff said. i have to really learn to let go and let god la...be positive and have faith.

donuts!

after lunch date with me evil twin and mr quek, i, being a lady of leisure, spent the afternoon at the beach yesterday - nuahing and running in the drizzle. it was quite a let down i settled down at about close to 3pm, by about 4+pm it poured. i waited till 5 and went for my run around the same route. loved it. its been so long since i last ran at sentosa. so though i didnt get to roll around a lot with my book i had a good time and i actually felt so much better.

i also took my first ride on the new monorail to vivo. nice! nicely aircon and clean and smooth. fast too. took about 10 mins or less from the beach... very good and islanders get to ride free so it's cool. the exciting bit was the crossing over from sentosa to main land... macham like travelling on water like that! woooohoooo... it was also cool that they placed like very friendly, engaging and polite young staff on the train, on the platforms and at the contact barriers... very very good service and really helps the adoption of the train by public... they are so cheerful and so eager to assist in anyway they can. if nothing else its great to be welcomed so warmly once u step out of the train or waved good bye when u leave. i bo liao so videoed the 43sec ride from beach station to impian station (i think i took about 5s to retrieve my cam and switch it on la... so one station ride about a min ba...fast right!). look out for the yellow and green uniformed staff waving on the platform when we pulled into the platform at the end of the video... heee.


met addy and WK for dinner at marche at Vivo. i dislike that place. the signages are hopeless. the shop directory is totally useless. they use terms like north court in the actual place but on the directory they no show where the hell is north court or watever, how to navigate?? i was frus coz it took me some time to find vinco donuts! tried to read the dam directory in the end also asked the info counter girl instead. silly la.

anyways i bot half a dozen donuts to try... did i tell u that i loveeeeee donuts? i mean really love them. since the closure of dunkin donuts chain i was very upset. i used to buy at the outlet at far east plaza. i still remember it was located at the now 7-11 outlet. so now even if i go m'sia thailand etc... confirm i will tabao juey juey donuts back and eat for like 2 days. haha. so right... when donut factory and vinco donuts opened in sgp... confirm i have to try rite? donut factory is out coz average queuing time is 2 to 3hrs... so i took a look at vinco since i was at vivo... NO Q! so exciting la! i bot half a dozen... my first try ma! well... not bad... verdict: soft and fluffy, light, not too sweet... not too bad at all! so i now really wondering are those at donut factory... same or about the same... is the 2 to 3 hrs queuing worth it?? i really wonder...wait for me one day really bo liao la... i go and q and tell u... haha... but anyway i do think vinco is ho eh! i would go buy again... no queue some more!
so here are (errrr...."were" is prob a better word... all since devoured by my donut-hungry family =P) the 6 i bought... top row: sweet sensation, might almonds, mon cherie; bottom row: choc cinnamon, original glazed (missing hole =P), mochattio. the yummiest ones: good ol glazed and mighty almonds - 2 THUMBS UPPPPP! there are like 18 flavours in all. i think one day i will go and order all and try. i love donuts... so yummy and they look so silly! funnee-looking food so makes it fun to eat!

chasing cars

it's v-day. too much emotions set off my a simple sms sent miles and miles away, feels good to be remembered and well loved.

just wana share this with anyone who gives two hoots... i felt so goose-bumpy when i saw this. chasing cars is an absolutely the most meaningful love song for 2006, coupled with grey's anatomy where everyone's love story is so real that they all strike a chord in me.


PS: i finally reinstalled bittorrent and it SEEMS to be downloading just fine... *fingers crossed* hopefully i can get back in the swing of all my serials... i miss them so much

is it valentine's day already?

wah so fast, valentine's day liao. i was reading blinky mummy's blog...so nice good fren bought her that red DVF dress i have been eyeing...*envy* its so pretty la but so overpriced in the store. i did have other more affordable sources but i figured i alreadee bought too many dresses! no more! bo pian lor...

this morning i spent some time sending vday cards to some pple i know, i have nothing else better to do! hahaa... no la... i think i've always been too busy to do much to show people i care or i think about them...now's the best time... though i am STILL worried about the next job... can't help it. i am a worry wort!

it's my second year alone... without a relationship on v-day. it's overrated la. i actually cant remember what i did with my bastard of an x-boyfriend the last time we spent vday together - so i figured, cant be that memorable then hor. i still hate his guts and everything. i don't know if that means i am still not over him but the sheer thought of him disgusts me. i guess i do somewhat blame him for the way i have turned out - cynical, void of ability to try to love, suspicious of everyone's intentions...i don't even bother trying to love againand there has been no zingggg feeling from any guys lately. either singapore men are deproving or its just me.

well there is that one guy that zinged me... heee... he really hit that spot that has not been hit for a longggg time lor... hahah... i met him nov/dec last year... he doesnt know i exist and he's what? 21?? hahaha... i misplaced his pics =( so can't share my joy...

my panasonic tough book is all packed... i am resisting everything and will go with i don't wana keep it... =S its light and all but its 1800 better spent elsewhere... tata... it was nice while i had ya!oh oh... and the horsey... at the zoo... on sat??? rem... i found some pics on my hp, my cam ran out of batt la... miniature horse... she's so pretty... i was totally in love with her...she was so nice to stroke too...pretty pretty..
so ok...u guys have a great vday... all coz i don really care about it...don't mean u shouldnt enjoy it k! =) well anyway i might end up having some wine and chilling with my friend... while we rejoice our freedom and celebrate our independence from that thing called man...we don't really need them ;) hahaha...

dr house

It's my first week off work. i am officially unemployed! funnee. i shouldnt be punctuating that with an exclamation mark. =( well anyway i am still working on the job search. i really hope something i want comes up soon. i am really starting to hate this insecure feeling of eventually starving to death and i am only barely a week into unemployment. i guess i look at my retired parents and really, i am VERY worried. sometimes i think it's real dumb what i did but i know in my gut that that's what i need. i really don need a job thats really killing me. or am i just trying to convince myself now, i am really just a lazy B*&^$? hmmm....watever la... it's done and i'm like 100 pounds lighter... and all the better i can concentrate on looking for a job and not worry about scheduling and such.

well the first day off work was spent in bed suffering. came down with stomach flu. decided to go with the self medication way of things. after all is it really worth the effort to go all the way down, queue for up to an hr, to see the doc for less than 15 mins and get some meds which i already have? hahaha...
i was also catching up on House MD. i love the guy...Dr house is a cynic, how he feels about life and love, i can totally relate...Dr Gregory House - played by Hugh Laurie... one hell of a guy with zelo bedside manners, brutally truthful who really guards himself from the evils and negativities of the world and humans in general. I love him and really i find him awfully cute! *horrors* hahaha... there we go... he does resemble a certain someone in an obnoxious sort of way that makes you wana strangle him but yet makes you love him more...Dr House heads the diagnostics team, and they go around solving mysterious illnesses which other depts/ docs are unable to figure out... it's so clever! hahahaa... though half the time i not sure what they are talking about!

Dr House has 3 fellows... Dr Foremen (Omar Epps - an african american), Dr Cameron (Jennifer Morisson - chio bu!!!!!!) and Dr Chase (strong australian accented fella played by Jesse Spencer)... strangely the team is very politically correct hor?? hahahaa...well anyway they always manage to look good all the time while saving dying pple. here's a pic of Jennifer (in red) and Jesse, they are apparently dating off-screen and i was so excited to find this coz its of them, with OC's off-screen couple "seth" and "summer"... all 4 of my fave pple =) i think jennifer looks like that CSI lady... sarah syder (errr not sure if the name is correct)....right hor?so from what it seems i do think i am turning into a couch potato... i do promise to clean out my room today and tomorrow... i simply must...simply simply must!!! so must control and not watch my DVDs!!! urghhhhh....

oh actually i wasnt all about lying around on a couch/ bed watching tv. i went to the zoo on sunday! hahahaaa... yes i was very inspired... it cost me 15 frigging bucks boy! zan... and no discount so i guess no more... unless i go and pretend to be my fren's maid... = s make use of her family membership... hahahahaaa....so hor... the zoo was like interesting for half an hr then it got tiring, hot and not so interesting. the slopes were also killing me... i think i had a great workout pushing the stroller around... yes i was the stroller pusher, yet again! and here i share with you the pics i took... with no particular order of preference and seriously its just to keep myself occupied and i do need some evidence that i was actually there rite? who will believe?

now, as any typical account of MY VISIT TO THE ZOO... i will tell u my favourite moment...it would be the horses... definitely the horses... they are simply gorgeous...beautiful creatures with such muscle tone and elegant faces! maybe i should take up horse riding too... =)

tracking backwards, sat was spent golfing on 9-hole in the am. i figured i really need to get my putting right. i can one on most of the holes but i cant putt for nuts...so that swings my scores up ...coz i take like 4 or 5 putts that sort of thing. in other words i should kill myself with my putter! had kuching kolo mee... it is nice... i am gona bug you-know-who to take me to kuching soon... he promised...we must go and have the original ones in authentic kopi tiams!

had a lazy afternoon with my jetsetting fren before he flew off again...yet again... things are so picking up for him, which is good. our afternoon was probably the result of my whining heee... this week my first week off work and you go and fly off on monday???? how can right? you should at least stay around for a while and play with me what!!! not nice la...hahhaaa....

so the weekend was a good start to my unemployment days. and i promise to keep myself busy, cleaning, watching DVDs, taking pictures and updating my blog...hahaha... not say a lot to say la... but it is fun... in a way...sharing about my favourite stuff. =) till the next time...
