Shanghai nights

Finally some time to tell everyone about my trip to Shanghai. I was actually in suzhou for 2 nights then Shanghai for the other 2. There wasnt really much time to do sightseeing or shop or anything but i did get a bit of stuff for my dec beijing trip. Days were spent in meetings, running around different project sites and meeting clients, for updates and touching base etc.

Guess the fun parts were the nights...always exciting...also fun...we will always be taken out. In Suzhou, things are not so happening but i managed to find cool boots there....$15 a pair...beat that!

Here are the "kids" on the way to Suzhou from Pudong airport...the ride took abt 2+ hrs so bored...aint they cute?? and yes, my duckie has yet to have his eye sewn back on...

The temperature was great...outdoors aircon...didnt need much warm clothing coz it was just nice...think dec not so lucky already...will

Here's downtown of Suzhou...didnt do much...walked and ate lunch...bought another pair of le coq sportif...here...abt $30

Had really nice authentic chinese food we had in SZ....its a little oily but its damn tasty... check out this bowl of fish slices...its all cooked in oil....all oil!!!

Here's a funny one...while we were getting into downtown Shanghai...saw these 4 men dangling and cleaning windows...shits...the building was soooooo tall and they were just hanging from nowhere...? where's the gondola??

Shanghai was fun...spent our nights in Nanjing St, New World, Paulaner, Xiang Yang Market (cheap cheapppppp!) and also of course at the Bund. My boss treated us to dinner at the Hyatt, which overlooks the bund. We crossed the bund on the underground train thingy...cost like 40 RMB for a return trip and you go through this tunnel with all the pyschedelic light display...i don't know about the rest but i was feeling a little woozy after the ride!

Here's the ever-famous Oriental Pearl at the bund...whats Shanghai without some touristy pics of this attraction on the bund...mayb my next trip i will go up??

Here's Hyatt...pretty grand no? more food at Hyatt...dining overlooking the bund...

Nanjing st...look at the pretty lights! More upmarket but its jz so pretty. it was here that i started missing home a lot...and of course that someone...so sad then...went back to hotel feeling empty...empty...empty

Here's me and Xiao Zhang, a local girl from Jiangsu...she's really nice....sweet and really hospitable! Gave me a pearl earrings and necklace set...all coz she heard i was going over and it was the first time i met her!

Here's where i have breakfast every morning in shanghai, at the foot of Ascendas Plaza, actually not suppose to take picture but errr....nemind la...must remember the place! Fantastic croissants! totally droolable

I was so lucky even won 10RMB on this scratch and win thing....the locals were all amazed coz apparently it's dammmmmm difficult to win...my winning ticket...! whoppeee.... hahaha only abt S$2+???

Xiao Zhang and me at the hotel we stayed in...Ru Jia..."Like Home".

On our way to Xiang Yang, a roadside hawker selling some interesting cracker...didnt dare try though...

Here's the view from our office. Amazing...so many buildings and skyscrapers! Have to keep reminding myself i am not in Hong Kong...

So here's bye to shanghai...leaving Puxi for Pudong...heading towards the airport...next time...i will do more and see more...cant wait cant wait!

My next China trip be for an exhibition in Beijing and i will extend for a wk or so...to cover Beijing, see the Great Wall and Forbidden City and back to Shanghai...see my old friend Spidee and spend some time there just sightseeing and really doing more...i have yet to see Peace hotel and the stretch of colonial buildongs along the Bund and didnt get much night life either. It's a break i so look forward to. :)
