lazy sunday... i'm sick... as in ahhhh-chooo sick. i woke up on thursday with a bad throat and stuck nose which progressed to fever and aches in the afternoon... thurs nite was spent waking up here and there in mid of the night cz i couldn't breathe... it was quite hilarious... to wake up snortingggg hahaha....
i really had to take an MC, be superbly medicated and spend some time sleeping in, on friday. basically i slept most of the day only to wake up to eat, take meds and the evening to go for din for my favourite ger's bday.
we went secret garden at middle (of the) road... service sucked... i really question their ability to plan their manpower! the whole outside area was only served by one "competent" waiter who was harrassed nonstop by the tables and especially our many requests for water (come on la... use bigger drinking glasses can???? so small they were like shot glasses - can you blame us?!). the waiters serving the inside... refused to serve the outside tables when they were summoned tho' our one and only outside waiter so soooo busy they only know how to say "wait just a moment"... wassup with that? got district discriminiation la. i was initially promised an inside table but was given a table outside, right by an industrial fan, without even an apology...only excuse "we are fully booked... so you have to take outside table". duh.... so stuck up! many complaints but seriously they are not good when the restaurant gets crowded... the last time when i was there for early dinner it was actually quite enjoyable... the oxtail stew and lobster bisque was good... but nw i must say.... their aglio olio SUCKS! tasted like just boiled in water and served... no fragrant olive oil/ garlic/ herb taste... just plain plain plain... i had to douse mine with generous tabasco, cheese flakes and "gunpowder"... so verdict: i don't think i would return. at least the company was good... and we had a lot of laughs...trying to gobble our food before the industrial fan froze them.
sat was also exclusively evil twin's day... dim sum brunch at nobel house - VERY GOOD la! must try: ribs, steamed beancurd rolls and chicken feet...can miss: steamed turnip cake, gui lin gao.
for a sick person... i had a very good appetite.
we stopped by to do a mani/ pedi just for fun. shopping at the new place central...there were many little shops... but everything's so new and not many outlets were open. i was soooo amazed by this jap snack shop at B1... basically they look like gifts people who go japan bring back for you...wrapped nice nice, price is reasonable and all look yummy la...must try next time.
And there was a waraku pasta place!!! i love jap pasta place! and look at their display! so yummy... must try also! look so appetising! rows and rows of food display!
dinner at cineleisure (bleahhhh... a foodcourt definitely not known for its food but more for their look-alike korean boys!) and a movie : Fractured. the movie was average... abt an old man who planned the "perfect" murder of his adulterous wife... haha... i just couldn't figure out the ending of the show, just can't tie 1 and 1 together... go and watch and let me know... haha...anthony hopkins look totally psycho in it la.... ala hannibal lecter-style... and he has gotten quite old and errr... fat... ryan gosling... i think his look grew on me la.
heee... ok la... i need to nap again... here are some pics from before... i finally found my mobile cable so downloaded them onto my pc...
